Indian Institute of Management, Indore organised a one million startup challenge ‘HULT Prize@Campus’. The event is the world’s largest competition for the students interested in social entrepreneurship. The competition is also known as the ‘Nobel Prize for Students’. It is one of its kind competition that has the support of Clinton Global Foundation, which awards the HULT Prize to the winners of the competition. As a part of this contest, a challenging topic is announced ever year, and the names of the winners is declared in the month of September. This year, the topic of the competition is ‘Reawakening Human Potential: The Refugee Opportunity’.

 

The winners of HULT Prize@Campus will receive $1 million in the form of seed capital. They will also get mentorship and advice from the international business community. On the other hand, each of the finalists will receive membership to the Clinton Global Initiative. HULT Business Shool, Sweden funds the competition.

 

The first stage of the competition is a selection of campus director. For this purpose, the participants or applicants must attend an interview. Campus director plays a significant role in overall HULT Prize experience. With an objective to bring awareness to the students about the competition, an extensive campaign was organised at the campus. The competition consists of two rounds.

 

In the second round, i.e., campus round, the applicants were judged by a bunch of experts in the areas of international HRM, qualitative enquiries and organisational behaviour. After the applicants expressed their views on the topic, the judges gave valuable feedback to all the participants regarding their ideas and its sustainability in the long run.

 

After a tough competition, Gaurav Madan, a PGP student has been selected as campus director. Similarly, Team Avant Garde has been selected for finals which will take place at Delhi in January 2017.
